What temperature to set on an air conditioner in winter

At home by day — 21–22 °C, at night in the bedroom — 18–20 °C, out for the day — 17–18 °C rather than “off”. Each degree lower is about 5 % of the heating electricity: if the unit heats the flat for about 1,490 lei a month, two degrees save about 150 lei.

Heat pump or air conditioner for heating a home: which to choose

An air conditioner is a heat pump too, just air-to-air: it heats the air in the room. An air-to-water heat pump heats water for radiators, underfloor heating and a hot-water tank. How much does heating with an air conditioner cost per month: the numbers in lei

From 1 October gas costs 26.14 lei per cubic metre. Using ANRE tariffs: 100 kWh of heat from a gas boiler costs about 310 lei, from a convector 360 lei, and from an inverter air conditioner 120 lei around zero and 180 lei in frost. If you burn 150 m³ of gas a month, the same heat from an air conditioner costs roughly 1 490–2 230 lei instead of 3 920.
